 If your property is located within city limits, your municipality:

• Adopts a city budget
   
• Sets a municipal millage rate
   
• Conducts required TRIM hearings
   
• Funds city-level services such as:
  • City parks & recreation
  • Police & fire (if city-operated)
  • Local road maintenance 
  • Planning & zoning
  • Code enforcement
     

If you live in unincorporated county areas, you do not pay a municipal millage — only county and other taxing authorities.

Municipalities are independent taxing authorities separate from the county.
